UN GLOBAL COMPACT

CoP REPORT 2021/2022

THE WORLD IS CHANGING, AND SO MUST WE

As a natural part of our work with responsible business, we joined the UN Global Compact in 2021.

We thus undertook to both implement 10 universal principles and to report annually with a CoP report (Communication on Progress) .

The 10 principles provide a common ethical and practical framework for companies’ responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. They are based on international conventions and agreements.

The principles form our foundation, together with four carefully selected UN global goals for sustainable development. And together with a focus on the triple bottom line and with an unwavering ambition for meaningful growth.

HOW CAN WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

When we started working on purposeful growth we asked ourselves; “What is the most important thing we can do in the world, and for the world, with the skills and resources we have available right now?

This has so far resulted in several concrete both environmental and social activities and measures, which has been carried out successfully and rooted in the organization, and which we are therefore pleased to highlight in our CoP report.

We are proud of the areas of action we have already positively influenced, thanks to a fantastic effort from our dedicated colleagues across the organisation, who work every day to create positive changes for the people and environments we are part of. But at the same time we are very aware that we still have a long way to go.

OUR WAY OF WORKING

Our business strategy is based on four central promises and areas of action. Through these, we commit to taking responsibility for our actions today, so that future generations have the opportunity to live good and dignified lives.

The four strategic lines arise from the Ten Principles of The UN Global Compact and are linked to four carefully selected SDGs, under which we have set clear goals and indicators that define and permeate our daily activities and behaviour.

Running a company which creates change depends heavily on our ability to run a healthy and profitable business.

In addition to contributing to positive change through our core products, we depend on the profits our company earns, as leverage to create change. Not only for our planet, but also for our employees and the local community.

WE COMMIT TO BEING TRANSPARENT IN EVERYTHING WE DO AND CREATING SIGNIFICANT , MEASUREABLE VALUE FOR ALL OUR STAKEHOLDERS

Regardless of whether you are employed by Aluproff or one of our partners, we believe , that we share responsibility for your well-being; not just at work, but in your community and on this planet.

WE COMMIT TO CREATING A HUMANE WORKPLACE WHERE EVERYONE CAN BELONG IF THEY WANT TO

Our aim is to reduce the climate impact from production and distribution, to continuously work towards a more circular business model and in the future to be able to work actively with our externalities and implement regenerative solutions throughout our ecosystem.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO STRIVING FOR A REGENERATIVE BUSINESS MODEL THAT ALSO LEAVES POSITIVE TRACES FOR POSTERITY

At Aluproff we dare to take the lead and take a risk, and we are proud of that of. We are pioneers who want a new way of doing business that is more in tune with what the world needs. We care enough to want to act – even before it is required.

WE COMMIT TO TAKING THE LEAD AND TO INSPIRE, GUIDE AND HELP OUR ECOSYSTEM, SO THAT TOGETHER WE SPREAD RINGS IN THE WATER

SUSTAINABILITY AND CIRCULARITY

In this Aluproff story, CEO Thomas Trads Hansen talks about running a circular and responsible business and about our SUSTAIN series of more responsible products.

ON OUR WAY TO B CORP

We believe that open communication is essential for sustainable development and responsible business. In addition to joining the UN Global Compact and begging the documentation of our sustainability efforts with the CoP report, we have also started work on obtaining a B Corp certification.

As a certified B Corp, a company is committed to higher standards both socially, environmentally and in terms of transparency. And to prove and document that there is action behind the words.

This means that B Corps not only compete to be the best companies in the world – but help each other to become the best for the world. We expect to have completed the certification at the beginning of 2023.
