GOING GREEN AND A GREEN COLLECTION

WORLD GOAL 12

AS A MANUFACTURING COMPANY WITH PRODUCTION OF CONSUMER GOODS AS OUR CORE BUSINESS, SDG 12 IS VERY IMPORTANT TO OUR OWN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.
WE HAVE ALREADY EMBARKED ON SEVERAL EXCITING PROJECTS, INCLUDING OUR NEW SUSTAINABLE COLLECTION.
TO US, SUSTAINABILITY MEANS TO CONSIDER ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND RECYCLING IN BOTH OUR PRODUCT DESIGN, PROCESSES AND BUSINESS MODEL. BUT SUSTAINABILITY IS ALSO TIMELESS DESIGN AND DURABLE QUALITY SOLUTIONS.
WITH A SHORT TIME TO MARKET AND AGILE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCEDURES, OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO BE FRONT RUNNERS IN SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT DESIGN, BOTH IN OUR DOMESTIC AND EXPORT MARKET.
BEING SUPPLIERS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY, WE WILL TRY TO INSPIRE PARTNERS AND ARCHITECTS TO USE OUR SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS AND SOLUTIONS.
TO “WALK THE TALK” WE ARE PART OF NETWORKS FOR CIRCULAR ECONOMY, SUSTAINABILITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT.

ALUPROFFS INITIATIVES

ALUPROFF SUSTAIN, NEW SUSTAINABLE COLLECTION
AS A PART OF FULFILLING THIS CLIMATE GOAL, WE HAVE CHOOSEN TO LAUNCH SUSTAIN, A COLLECTION USING SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS WHICH ARE ETHICALLY MANUFACTURED, PRODUCED WITH LOW EMISSIONS, WHICH CAN BE REUSED AND ARE LONG LASTING. OUR FIRST PRODUCTS IN THE COLLECTION ARE THE SUSTAINABLE CURTAIN TRACKS, 2001 CIRCAL AND 2005 CIRCAL, CREATED IN COLLABORATION WITH HYDRO. THE TRACKS ARE MADE OF HYDRO CIRCAL 75R ALUMINUM, CONTAINING A MINIMUM OF 75 PERCENT RECYCLED ALUMINUM AND WITH A PROVEN, RECORD LOW CARBON FOOTPRINT.
MINIMIZATION OF SCRAP AND WASTE
BY IMPLEMENTING NEW WASTE DISPOSAL PROCEDURES WITH THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE RECYCLING RATE, WE EXPECT TO REDUCE OUR QUANTITY OF NON-RECYCLABLE WASTE BY 40% IN 2020, COMPARED TO 2019. FROM OUR TOTAL YEARLY AMOUNT OF 24 TONNES OF WASTE, 10 TONNES WILL BE RECYCLED. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO ADDITIONALLY INCREASE THE RATE OF RECYCLABLE WASTE OVER THE NEXT YEARS, BY AN EVEN MORE EFFECTIVE SORTING PROCESS.
IN COOPERATION WITH OUR PACKAGING SUPPLIERS, WE ARE WORKING ON CONTINUOUS OPTIMIZATION OF OUR PACKAGING USAGE. PACKAGING WILL BE REUSED TO THE LARGEST POSSIBLE EXTENT. NEW PACKAGING MUST BE ENVIRONMENTALLY CERTIFIED. THIS GOES BOTH FOR PAPER, WOOD AND PLASTIC PACKAGING. THIS PROCESS HAS ONLY RECENTLY BEEN IMPLEMENTED AND WILL BE CONTINOUSLY OPTIMIZED.
SINGLE-USE PALLETS WILL BECOME NEW PALLETS
AS A MANUFACTURING DESIGN COMPANY, WE RECEIVE MANY RAW MATERIALS ON SINGLE-USE PALLETS THAT CAN BE USED ONE TIME ONLY. TO OPTIMIZE THE USE OF THE PALLETS, WE HAVE STARTED COOPERATING WITH A COMPANY WHO PURCHASES OUR USED PALLETS AND RE-SELLS THE ONES WHO CAN BE STILL BE OF USE. ABOUT 20% OF OUR PALLETS ARE GIVEN A NEW LIFE, AND THE REST ARE SORTED TOGETHER WITH OTHER WOOD WASTE AND COLLECTED FOR RECYCLING.
ALUMINUM SCRAP IS RECYCLED
AS A PRODUCTION AND DESIGN COMPANY, WHO SPECIALIZES IN CUSTOMIZED SOLUTIONS, THE UTILIZATION OF EACH ALUMINUM TRACK SHOULD IS A CRITICAL PARAMETER. USING SOPHISTICATED CALCULATIONS, WE STRIVE TO MINIMIZE THE PERCENTAGE OF WASTAGE ON EVERY SINGLE TRACK LEAVING OUR FACTORY. ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A WASTE PRODUCT FROM CUTTING AND SHORTENING OUR PROFILES AND TO OPTIMIZE USE OF THE ALUMINUM PRODUCT, WE COOPERATE WITH A COMPANY WHO BUYS THE WASTE PRODUCT FOR REUSE.
GREEN CIRCULAR CHANGE
DUE TO OUR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AMBITIONS, WE HAVE APPLIED TO, AND BEEN SELECTED FOR, THE “GREEN CIRCULAR CHANGE” PROJECT. A PROJECT INTENDED TO INITIATE AND IMPLEMENT A GREEN AND CIRCULAR REVISION OF OUR BUSINESS MODEL. THE PROJECT STARTED MID 2020.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION
IN GENERAL, WE ALWAYS HAVE QUALITY, FUNCTIONALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AS CRITICAL PARAMETERS FOR PRODUCT INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT. TO INCREASE SUSTAINABLE IMPLEMENTATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, WE NOT ONLY FOCUS ON THE QUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PRODUCTS, BUT ALSO ON THE USE OF THE PRODUCT ITSELF. WE ALWAYS AIM TO MINIMIZE THE NUMBER OF PRODUCTS WITH OVERLAPPING FUNCTIONS, TO OPTIMIZE THE FEATURES OF THE SINGLE PRODUCT TO COVER A WIDER SPECTRUM OF FEATURES. FEWER PRODUCTION LINES EQUALS LESS ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN PRODUCTION.
DIGITALIZATION OF BUSINESS PROCESSES
WE ARE TRYING TO AVOID OVERPRODUCTION THROUGH DATA ANALYSIS AND TO EXTEND OUR DIGITALIZATION FOR MAXIMUM UTILIZATION OF RESOURCES. WE ALSO SUPPORT INITIATIVES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION. WHEN POSSIBLE, WE REUSE AND BUY RECYCLED ELECTRONIC HARDWARE.
GREEN NETWORKING
WE PARTICIPATE IN CIRCULAR ECONOMICS NETWORKS, ERFA GROUPS AND OTHER NETWORK GROUPS, WHERE WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE OUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SUSTAINABLE CHANGE, INSPIRE OTHERS, AND BE INSPIRED.
