CASE

I am not what you see is the name of an exhibition at the international art center of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Contemporary.

Video- and performanceartist Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen is examining nomadic life, ethnicity, and identity. She zooms in on the ability of nomads to carry their home wherever they go, crossing boundaries, parts of the world, cultures, and social conditions.

QUADRIPOINT

For the monumental sculpture Quadripoint, we created a 130 meter long Aluproff 5001 track in the colour white. The rail winds around the huge hall carrying white recycled fabric which acts both as a room divider and curtain

It was a challenging but exiting task, and we ended up milling the longest track to date. We think the result is both unique and beautiful.

Playing with curtain tracks

Cuenca Rasmussen’s exhibition consists of four monumental sculptures, each bearing a different name and, in their various ways, hybrids of architecture, costumes, and dwellings.

The largest work in physical terms is Quadripoint, reminiscent of a tipi. The gossamer-thin white fabric of the sculpture, stretched between floor and ceiling, and carried by the Aluproff rail, is anchored to the floor by ten heavy coral stones.

Besides dissolving its own shape, Quadripoint is able to transform the gallery space completely when the thin fabric and the curtain track are used during the performance “Cocktail”.

The rail creates new spaces and labyrinths, as well as surrounds and lifts the artwork.
